The Volcan Mountain Foundation (VMF) is looking for volunteer ambassadors interested in helping out in a variety of ways while having fun—public outreach, volunteering at events, outdoor education with VMF’s student programs, and much more!
All are invited and encouraged to join and support Volcan Mountain Foundation supporters artist, Coko Brown, and her husband, Tim Taschler, on Sunday, February 24th from 6-9pm, at the opening artists' reception for En Plein-Air, a Charles Reiffel Tribute 2013, presented by the San Diego Museum of Art Artist's Guild.

Come learn the art of making Shawii and other traditional foods of the Kumeyaay at this class being offered by the Sycuan Education Department/Kumeyaay Community College during their Spring 2013 semester. Join instructor Ana Gloria (Martha) Rodriguez to explore how the Kumeyaay used different plants and animals to create a nutritious diet. Kumeyaay Community College, in partnership with Cuyamaca Community College, is offering a course on Kumeyaay Ethnobotany for Spring Semesters. This course will explore the relationship between the Kumeyaay/Diegueno People and the plants and vegetation of their traditional territory. Come learn about the plants that were and are used to sustain, heal and protect the Kumeyaay Nation. To receive college credit students must submit an online application and register through Cuyamaca College.
