Kumeyaay Traditional Foods

Come learn the art of making Shawii and other traditional foods of the Kumeyaay at this class being offered by the Sycuan Education Department/Kumeyaay Community College during their Spring 2013 semester. Kumeyaay Ethnobotany Course

Kumeyaay Community College, in partnership with Cuyamaca Community College, is offering a course on Kumeyaay Ethnobotany for Spring Semesters.  This course will explore the relationship between the Kumeyaay/Diegueno People and the plants and vegetation of their traditional territory.  Come learn about the plants that were and are used to sustain, heal and protect the Kumeyaay Nation.  To receive college credit students must submit an online application and register through Cuyamaca College.

Celebrate Kids With Cameras on Thursday, November 29th at 6pm

The community is invited to honor the Fall 2012 Kids With Cameras students at a reception and photo exhibition kick-off at the Julian Library on Thursday, November 29th at 6pm.  Please come celebrate and support these budding photographers and the acclaimed collaborative program between the Volcan Mountain Foundation and Julian Elementary School Character Garden.  We hope to see you there!
