The Volcan Mountain Foundation's Wildlife Imaging Team (WITs) maintains six wildlife cameras to gather information on wildlife movements on Volcan Mountain. The WITs need additional volunteers to help with:

Sunday, January 24th come learn the art of wildcrafting at the Volcan Mountain Foundation’s Volcan Mountain Nature Center at the headwaters of Santa Ysabel Creek in Julian. January’s wildcrafting event is ‘For The Birds!’ led by VMF’s new Conservation Education Coordinator, Janice-Bina Smith. A familiar face to past wildcrafting event participants, VMF is enthusiastic to now have Janice on staff.
This Saturday, December 12th, at 10:30am, please join the Volcan Mountain Foundation and the Friends of the Julian Library as we welcome Michael Connolly Miskwish to speak on the Astronomy of the Kumeyaay Native Americans.
This Saturday, December 12th, please consider joining one of our partner organizations, the San Diego River Park Foundation, from 10am-2pm for a native tree and shrub planting event in San Diego's Backcountry!
Support vital restoration efforts of the San Diego River Park Foundation in the headwaters of the San Diego River by helping to plant shrubs and trees at Boulder Creek Preserve outside of Descanso, CA.

The weather in Julian may be extreme at times, but that does not mean it has to be unpredictable.
Please join local meteorologist and Volcan Mountain Foundation board member, Steve Vanderburg as he gives you his perspective on the fascinating weather of Julian as well as the brewing El Nino, climate change, and what all of this means for those of us living on the mountain. The seminar will be held at the Julian Library at 6pm this Tuesday, November 10th.
